Led Mr16
I feel guilty whenever I put my landing lights on at home. At the moment we have recessed spotlights on the landing, consisting of six lamps in total. I know they can`t be very eco-friendly but in my defence they were fitted by the home`s previous owner. However, this doesn`t let me completely off the hook because what I should be doing is replacing the standard lamps that are in the spotlights with Led Mr16 lamps. This would certainly cut down on the energy levels that each lamp produced. Less heat is generated by the Led Mr16 lamps and this in turn reduces the overall energy consumption of the units. Each one of the lamps can be bought a direct replacement for the older versions. Although the cost of the Led Mr16 lamps is higher than the normal varieties this money is recouped due the avverage burn time. When you consider that each one of the led laps can burn for 50,000 hours you soon realise what cost-effective items they actually are. At the moment I feel terribly guilty every time that I switch the landing lights on at my home. I have therefore decided to replace the older type of lamps with the new energy saving Led Mr16 units.

Thermionic Culture
My boyfriend is in a band and he and his band mates often come round to our house to practice in the garage. They make such a racket and I do tend to stay out of the way but the other day they were particularly keen on me hearing their latest sounds. So I gingerly ventured into the garage to listen to them. Their music was fantastic. I was really impressed and the guys were all delighted with my response. My boyfriend said we should celebrate so they went to the shops to buy some beers and we all sat around chattiing and laughing. One thing they kept on talking about was Thermionic Culture and although they tried to explain to me what Thermionic Culture was I was completely puzzled by it. On and on they went chatting about Thermionic Culture to their hearts` content without giving a thought to me. I was getting more and more annoyed and thought that they were extremely rude. After about an hour and a half of this I took my boyfriend to one side and explained how left out I felt. He apologised immediately, had a word with the rest of the band and, fortunately, they remembered their manners and we ended up having a great evening together.

Lake District Prints
I can`t quite put my finger on the reason why I return to the Lake District time and time again. It might have something to do with the stunning scenery, breathtaking views, friendly locals, fabulous tea shops and a feeling of being at one with the world that makes me return to the area as often as I can. You find charming villages like Grassmere in the Lakes that have been loved and cherished by many people over the years. The great William Wordsworth adored the area and it was the inspiration behind the well revered ?Daffodils` poem. The last time I visited the Lakes I spent some time in a local gallery looking at a series of
Lake District Prints. The landing of my home has been crying out for some wall art for quite some time and I wanted to find a print that could cater for this particular spot. Having looked at a number of the Lake District Prints I found the perfect picture that would look ideal on the wall of my home. It was a beautiful image of the sun breaking on Buttermore and I knew that I just had to order a panoramic print of this captivating picture. There were other Lake District Prints that I would have gladly bought and it gives me a good excuse to return to this area in the very near future.
